Evaluation- Director's commentary

Focus group on the film

After we finished constructing our media product, we needed to ask people how they found our opening sequence. So, we asked six students from Year 13 whom do not do A level Media Studies but they tend to watch media products. The reason why we chosen six people over twenty or thirty people is because we needed to be very selective and we wanted to qualitative data rather than 'how many answers'(quantitative data) we got for our work. The responses were extremely helpful and everyone that answered the questions enjoyed watching the opening sequence. Therefore, this audience feedback has told me that my opening sequence was successful and that I do not need anything to improve in my opening sequence.

Questionnaire based on OCR specification

After we finished constructing our media product, we wanted our focus group to think technically about the effectiveness of our media products. As members of my group and I wanted to achieve a Level 4 for our video, members of my group and I distributed a questionnaire to our focus group(after they viewed our media product and gave their thoughts on a 'focus group' questionnaire) where they answered questions based on the effectiveness of our media product whether it be mise-en-scene to editing. This questionnaire based on OCR specification allowed me to figure out what the audience liked about our media product. The responses were highly helpful as they were positive and they weren't much complaints about my opening sequence. So, this audience feedback has helped me know what the audience likes about my opening sequence and that I do not need to improve anything about my opening sequence.
