Welcome to my blog!
This blog was made to show all of my work that went towards creating a promotional package which consists of a Psychological-Thriller opening sequence for my AS Media Studies Portfolio in an electronic format.
All of my work could be found by navigating through the pages on the right hand side of pages, and all of my pages can be found on the home page. In the page of 'Research and Planning', I have included all the research and planning from my psychological-thriller opening sequence. In the page of 'Pre-Production and Production' I have included all the planning or filming that have helped to the lead up of my opening sequence. The page 'Research and Planning' also includes everything in the page of 'Pre-Production and Production' as they include the research and planning of my opening sequence. But, the page 'Pre-Production and Production' only includes posts like my storyboard or my casting list. The other pages are self-explanatory from what is is called.
I have also made this opening sequence individually but if there is any emphasis of the word 'we' or 'our' it is because I had people from my casting list help me with my work. But, I played all of the major roles such as Director and Producer in my media product.

Focus group on the film
Questionnaire based on OCR specification
After we finished constructing our media product, we wanted our focus group to think technically about the effectiveness of our media products. As members of my group and I wanted to achieve a Level 4 for our video, members of my group and I distributed a questionnaire to our focus group(after they viewed our media product and gave their thoughts on a 'focus group' questionnaire) where they answered questions based on the effectiveness of our media product whether it be mise-en-scene to editing. This questionnaire based on OCR specification allowed me to figure out what the audience liked about our media product. The responses were highly helpful as they were positive and they weren't much complaints about my opening sequence. So, this audience feedback has helped me know what the audience likes about my opening sequence and that I do not need to improve anything about my opening sequence.
Evaluation- All the questions together.
These answers directly answer the following questions:
- In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
- How does your media product represent particular social groups?
- What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
- Who would be the audience for your media product?
- How did you attract/ address your audience?
- What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
- Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?
The highlighted questions have been mentioned in my 'Director's Commentary' or any other evaluation answers I gave in my other posts(Focus group and OCR specification based questionnaire). So, if their answers are brief, there is more evaluative work to back these questions up.
